Combining the converging worlds of biogas, biomass, waste-to-x, carbon capture and utilisation, carbon sequestration, the bioeconomy … Bio360 provides a panoramic view of all things bio-derived.
With a proven track record in bioenergy events management for over 15 years, BEES has combined the three historical events Biogaz Europe, Bois Energie and ReGen Europe under the banner Bio360 where it all comes together under one roof, under one heading with one direction… ensuring that we fully adopt a renewable, bio-sourced economy and that the fossil economy becomes a thing of the past.
The event itself attracts 7000 professionnals and 450 exhibitors from across 35 countries and 5 continents. It’s highly international character is further enhanced through a rich conference programme with simultaneous translation, a large panel of international speakers and international B2B business meetings.
Bio360 brings together both direct energy capture and new pathways to valorise different waste resource streams. The calorific content of numerous resources such as msw, srf, waste rubber granules, dry sludge amongst others can be converted into energy via a range of technologies including combustion, anaerobic digestion, torrefaction, pyrolysis, thermolysis, pyrogasification, hydrothermal gasification, plasma torch processes etc. The resulting energy forms include heat, chp as well as biomethane through the methanation of syngas.
Waste to fuels, roads and plastic are also new areas of waste recovery that are now coming to market.
FEEDSTOCK : multiple waste resources such as agricultural residues, srf, dry sludge, plastics, tyres, municipal and industrial non-renewable waste can generate via different conversion processes, a wide range of green energy forms.
PROCESS : Different processes including combustion, anaerobic digestion, torrefaction, pyrolysis, pyrogasification, thermolysis, methanation … apply increasing temperatures in order to extract the energy content in the desired form.
OUTPUTS : a large range of outputs are possible from the different conversion processes in direct energy or as a solid, liquid or gaseous fuel,eg : biochar, biogas, syngas, metal powders, biomethane (methanation of syngas), jet fuel.
ENERGY RECOVERY : the energy recovery opportunities include heat (or steam), chp as well as biomethane that can be injected directly into the gas network or utilised for transport (a fuel termed biongv - bio natural gas for vehicles), aircraft.
Bio360 brings together the entire biogas sector covering the feedstock supply chain and its pretreatment, the entire process of methanisation and digestate management to energy recovery, including co/tri-generation, upgrading and methanation to biomethane and biognv fuels, CO2 capture and utilization etc. AD and biogas represent an important diversification activity for agriculture with multiple positive benefits in terms of the environment, decarbonization, income diversification, waste management, fertilizer management, local employment as well as for other waste management service providers handing large volumes of bio-waste streams, local municipalities and industry.
FEEDSTOCK : Substrates to feed anaerobic digestion are sourced from a multiple of streams : agricultural, animal, agro-alimentary and restaurant waste, intermediary crops , organic fraction from waste treatment centers, waste water etc.
PROCESS : The anaerobic digestion process occurs in a digester by way of microbial and bacterial interaction with the substrates supported by heat and time. The resulting biogas is primarily composed of CH4 and CO2 with smaller amounts of H2S and ammonia.
OUTPUTS : Biogas can be combusted in a gas engine or it can be upgraded to biomethane. The residual C02 can be processed with H2 (generated from excess wind or solar energy) to produce additional biomethane, a process known as methanation.
ENERGY RECOVERY : the energy recovery opportunities of biogas are pure heat, steam or heat & power. Biomethane can be injected directly into the gas network or utilised for transport : bioNGV - road haulage, bioLNG - road haulage and maritime.
Bio360 brings together the solid biomass to energy for industry and municipality co-generation, heating as well as cooling from wood and agricultural waste streams. CO2 capture and utilisation, carbon sequestration through biochar, methanation of syngas to produce biomethane as well as other processes to produce liquid biofuels, chemicals, nutrients and other materials represent new areas and opportunities for the valorization of solid biomass.
FEEDSTOCK : multiple woody resources such as wood chips, end of life waste wood, wood industry by-products, can generate energy in a range of energy forms via the application of different conversion technologies.
PROCESS : Different processes including wood boilers, torrefaction, pyrolysis, thermolysis, pyrogasification, methanation... apply increasing temperatures in order to extract the energy content in the desired form, either directly or as a fuel.
OUTPUTS : a large range of outputs is possible from the different conversion processes in direct energy or as a solid, liquid or gaseous fuel, eg black pellets (coal substitute), biochar, bio-oil (heating, chp), syngas, methane (methanation of syngas), jet fuel.
ENERGY RECOVERY : the energy recovery opportunities include heat (district heating or steam), chp as well as biomethane which can be injected directly into the gas network or utilised for transport (a fuel termed biongv - bio natural gas for vehicles), aviation.
